Installing and updating premium plugins

Installing Kalium Plugins

This step is very important because your theme functionality depends on these settings, so please follow this section carefully.

After you upload and install/activate Kalium theme go to Laborator > Plugins page.

Click Install and then Activate for the recommended plugins:

Required Plugins

Plugins that are required to install and activate so Kalium theme will work properly are:

  • WPBakery Page Builder (default page builder)
  • Advanced Custom Fields PRO (needed for the Parameters and Options area)

Other recommended plugins that can be activated in case you want to use certain theme functions (based on sections of the demo you want to use) are:

  • Portfolio Post Type (enables portfolio functionality)
  • Slider Revolution (if you want to use/create sliders)
  • LayerSlider (another slider plugin)
  • WooCommerce (enables shop functionality on your site)
  • WooCommerce Product Size Guide (create size guide for your products)
  • WooCommerce Product Filter (if you need more advanced filters for your shop)

Updating premium plugins

From version 2.6 of Kalium we have implemented Remote plugins updates so you no longer need to wait for theme updates to get the latest version of bundled plugins, you’ll get plugin updates right after their release so to update them you just need to go to Laborator > Plugins area.

Each theme update will contain the latest version for premium plugins inside the installation files too.

Premium plugins cannot be activated with theme purchase code?!

Often users try to activate these plugins with “theme purchase code” which in fact won’t work. The reason is simple, Envato and plugin authors don’t allow to activate premium plugins using theme purchase code!

Each plugin has its own purchase code, and in order to activate the plugin, you need to purchase a copy for each of them.

Every theme in ThemeForest works this way with premium plugins. We are allowed to re-distribute these premium plugins with an extended license and limited rights.

Extended License covers: including the plugin in the theme, use the plugin and get the latest update via theme releases only. To get automatic updates, you need to purchase the plugin. If plugin author has made a “premium feature” that requires activation, it is not granted for Extended License owners to use it, but for individual users who purchase the respective plugin.
