Search Settings

To further control search settings on your site we have added some neat options. To access those features:

  1. On the admin sidebar navigate through Laborator > Theme Options
  2. Click on Other Settings
  3. Select the Search Settings tab.

Here are the available options:

  • Thumbnails — Click Show or Hide. If you click Show button, search results will show thumbnail on the search results (read Note below).
  • Exclude Post Types — As the option says, you can exclude Posts, Pages, Products or Portfolio items to show from search results

Note: In order to show thumbnail on the search results, you must attach a featured image on that page. Pages that don’t have attached their featured image will not show the thumbnail next to their name when you search for them (Example).

Search Field on Mobile Menu

Some users prefer to hide search field on mobile menu only, or otherwise. So we have created another an option for this.

  1. On the admin sidebar navigate through Laborator > Theme Options
  2. Click on Header and Menu
  3. Select the Mobile Menu tab.
  4. You will see Search Field on Mobile Menu area and there you can click Show button to activate search on your mobile menu.

Search on Full Background (Fullscreen) menu

Fullscreen menu is a different menu by its looks and functionality, so the option to activate or deactivate the search on this specific menu can be found by:

  1. Navigating to Laborator > Theme Options
  2. Click on Header and Menu
  3. Select the Menu Settings tab.

If you have selected Full Background Menu then you will see Full Background Menu Settings area, there you can see Search field after the last menu item. Just tick that option then click Save button and the search will now show on frontend.
