When purchasing Kalium from ThemeForest, you have two licensing options. The Regular License, and the Extended License. The billing, licensing terms and process is purely handled by Envato (the company that owns ThemeForest), and we have no control over these aspects. To learn more about what each License is for and which one to purchase, continue reading below.
Please note that theme activation is not required however it is strongly recommended to have an activated copy of the theme in order to get theme updates, premium plugins updates, or import Kalium demos.
Support package does not limit theme updates or plugins, it is only needed to submit a ticket at our support forum.
There are two types of theme licenses you can purchase from Envato: Regular or Extended license:
Regular License
Allows you to activate the theme in local/staging environment and for one domain only. A domain is considered only the top-level domain, you can activate the regular license on multiple subdomains of that domain for example if you activate the theme in this domain www.xyz.com:
- www.xyz.com – Valid
- staging.xyz.com – Valid
- xyz.com/staging – Valid
- whatever.xyz.com/mysite – Valid
- localhost – Valid
- abc.com – New license is required
- staging.abc.com – New license is required
- 123.123.123.123 – New license is required
One license is valid for one domain only. If you want to use the theme on another domain, then you have to purchase another license.
Extended License
Allows you to activate the theme on any domain and local/staging environment.

Common Questions
1. If I need to use Kalium on a second site, do I need a second license?
Yes. One purchase of Kalium allows you to use the theme on one production site. If you need to use it on a second site, it requires you to make a second license purchase or purchase the Extended License and use Kalium on unlimited domains.
2. Can I use Kalium on a test site, then move it to a live site when finished?
Yes, you can. You can keep the theme on a test site (on the same domain or localhost) to build it, then move it to the live site once you’re finished.
3. Can I keep a test site and a live site with one Regular License purchase?
Yes, you can. This is mostly recommended when you want to apply new updates to the theme to the test site before updating the live site to avoid any possible issues. Keep in mind that you must use the same domain.
4. If for any reason I change the staging domain, how I can remove the old domain?
You can write in our official support area and one of our support agents will revoke your staging domain from your license so you can activate the theme in its final domain. Please note that we can only revoke a license if their registration is not older than 6 months or you have an active support subscription.
